Hmmmmmmm, seems there was some inflation since my first view. There was definitely a 750 price involved earlier. Based strictly on previous sales of 9842, they were topping out at 750.
Not to suggest they're not a good speaker, they're in fact great! But, they never seem to get much love in the open market.
The other offering, the 'auratone' is also a bit steep, yes? Of course, perhaps there is a following.
I don't keep up with the 8"-ers.
RE: 9842 ... iirc there's been a single cheap down on one of the VA CL w/non altec woof, forever now.
